Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before registering for or participating in any Playoff Golf events. By registering, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Playoff Golf
Playoff Golf is a competitive Order of Merit pairs competition held across the Northwest of England. Events are designed for amateur golfers and governed by the rules set out in this document, along with the Rules of Golf as defined by The R&A.
2. Eligibility
- Participants must be aged 18 or over.
- All players must hold an active WHS handicap index.
- Entry is open to amateur golfers only. Professionals are not permitted to compete.
- Pairs must consist of two registered participants; substitutions may be allowed at the organiser’s discretion.
3. Registration and Payment
- Entry to each event must be made via the official registration process on our website or approved platforms.
- Full payment is required at the time of registration to secure your place.
- Entry fees are non-transferable between events unless otherwise agreed.
4. Event Format
- Events are two-player betterball Stableford competitions.
- Points are awarded at each event toward the season-long Order of Merit.
- Top-ranking pairs will qualify for the season-ending Playoff Final.
- In the event of a tie in Order of Merit standings, countback or additional playoff rules will apply (as outlined on the website).
5. Cancellation Policy
By Participants:
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before an event: a full refund will be issued, minus a small admin fee (if applicable).
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the event: no refund will be given unless the spot can be filled by another team.
- No-shows on the day of the event will not be refunded under any circumstances.
By Organisers:
- Playoff Golf reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event due to weather conditions, course availability, or insufficient entries.
- In the case of cancellation by Playoff Golf, participants will be offered:
- A full refund, or
- A transfer to a future event (subject to availability)
6. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, sportsmanlike manner. Abuse of staff, fellow competitors, or venue property may result in disqualification and future bans.
7. Handicap Integrity
- All players must have an active handicap index through the World Handicap System (WHS).
- Organisers reserve the right to verify handicaps through club or system checks.
- Any player found manipulating their handicap may be disqualified and banned from future events.
8. Media Consent
By participating, you grant Playoff Golf permission to use photos, videos, and names for promotional purposes across digital, print, and social media platforms. If you wish to opt out, please notify us in writing before the event.
9. Liability
Playoff Golf accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during events, including but not limited to personal injury, theft, or damage to vehicles or equipment. Participation is at your own risk.
10. Changes to Terms
Playoff Golf reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued participation in events constitutes acceptance of any changes.
